Au Revoir to our brick and mortar shop!

Friday, November 2nd, 2012

To all of our loyal customers;

I would like to thank everyone for all the support that you have given to Post 27’s retail store in our 5 amazing years in business. Post 27’s brick and mortar shop will be closing it’s doors on November 21st and will continue as an online, e-commerce web shop for the home. We are expanding our design studio under the  name  “Angela Finney-Hoffman”, which will offer custom furniture design, commercial and residential interior design, and event design. We are very excited to continue our creative force in directions that have given us such rewarding success.

I am of course sad to close our shop,  a place that I used as my “blank canvas”, but I look forward to the many new avenues and paths of the future.  I will continue to co-host the Design Harvest Festival, throwing events, and working on collaborative installations.

My main reason for opening Post 27 was to inspire others, to share my love for design and bring together like minded people.  I will continue doing just that with more in depth blog posts on Outpost, creating commercial spaces for others to experience, designing spaces for people to call home, and by searching and collecting amazing items for our e-commerce website.

We will be starting our closing sale on Saturday, November 3rd, and we welcome you to come and have a toast with us on November 15th from 6 to 9pm, in celebration of Post 27’s past and future.

Thanks again,
Angela Finney-Hoffman

*Please continue to follow us on our website and our blog. We will be marking down items tomorrow in the shop and on the website!

Introducing Monsieur Victor Fong!

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

Victor’s joining Post 27 as graphic designer, blogger, and in general creative helper extraordinaire! A recent grad from the Art Institute, Victor’s days are spent as an in-house designer for an investment firm, but he’s excited to get his hands into other types of projects and media with us. If you like, learn more about Victor here on his website.

Cheers to you, Victor, and welcome! We are so very lucky to have you!

So the dust is settling in our new space and we’re so close to being done with our website upgrades too. Pretty soon everything we sell will be available for purchase online too, woo hoo! Here’s a few of my favorite new things. I spotted that chair on a recent episode of Mad Men, but I might also be spotting on my deck because I might just have to buy it!

1. Chrome Saturn Floor Lamp, $595
2. Black/White Gem Container, $55
3. Scroll Chair, $165.00

Doors, they are open!

Friday, May 18th, 2012

While the space is still evolving (it never really stops, honestly) we’re ready to get sales back up and running! So come see us! We’ve missed you so. Just a reminder on our hours: Tuesday-Saturday 11-6pm, Sunday 11-5pm. And don’t forget we’re having a kick-ass party on the 31st to christen our new digs!

Here’s a few teaser shots of what we’ve been up to! That’s David Sprecher creating the most intricate, and rather piercing I might add, installation out of razor blades. I know, right?! Our new space has so much light I can only imagine the patterns it casts as it flickers across these.

Progress is happening! New flooring, new lighting, the new space smells of sawdust and fresh paint. With each box that’s unpacked we’re more and more in love with our new space, basking in its newness. Everything is crisp and clean, thanks to our southern facing windows dousing everything in brightness. Can’t wait to show you! Our re-opening date (May 19th) is fast approaching…

Style inspiration for our new space!

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

Though the shop & studio are a dizzying display of boxes and installation crap, oh, everywhere, our eyes are on the prize. Here’s some of the inspiration behind the new space’s concept, which is currently in production. One day, very soon, we’ll unveil. Just a reminder to everyone, our new address is just across the street at 1818 (in the space where our friends Painted Lady used to be – we’ve pulled a Trading Spaces style move).

Regular business hours will resume May 19th.

Catch you on the filp! Keep popping back in for more details as they evolve!

Don’t forget: sale tomorrow! [UPDATED!]

Monday, April 16th, 2012

Just a quick reminder about our moving sale tomorrow! Discounts will be running deep, 30-50% off the vintage gear we’re not moving to the new space (clothing excluded). We want to see you and send you home with gorgeous things! As always shop’s open at 11am, in the words of Bob Barker, come on down!

*UPDATED* Just to say the sale doesn’t END on the 17th, it goes until April 29th!

Moving – yes, Moving!

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

This. Is going to be huge. We’re moving! Yes! It is official. Starting May 1st we are packing up the shop and setting up camp across the street! For us this means a smarter, more evolved & edited space, with less overhead so we can focus more on designing interiors and products. Did I say how excited we are? It’s all buzzy and fluttery over here.

And you know what else this means?! Oh, yeah: SALE. Help us lighten our load! April 17th, all day we’ll be marking down majorly. The more you buy, the less we have to move – everyone wins! And then once we get back up and running we’re having a grand féte to celebrate our hard work & spiffed up digs. Get yourself ready, it’s on May 31st.

At the moment we’re focusing on designing the interior of the new space, one word on that: BLACK. More inspiration behind the new look heading your way soon…

Frei: Our Newest Comrade

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

In case you were wondering, scheme is our middle name at Post 27, and we’ve got a hot plan in the works. Can’t stop, won’t stop baby! This time our sister-in-style, designer Annie Novotny, is moving both her clothing line, frei, and her workshop into our store. That’s right, we’re getting a new roommate! It’s an ingenious take on collaboration and a bold new spin on retail. Starting in September you can dive head-first into Novotny’s process and production, as she designs and sews new frei pieces right on the sales floor, next to the rest of our merchandise. frei’s collection of modern tactile threads are the perfect complement to our interiors, it’s the ultimate marriage of style and craft.

More posts coming soon with sneak peeks, but mark your calendars for September 8th. We’ll be partying it up and celebrating the debut of frei’s Fall 2011 line, available exclusively at Post 27.

Lapel Commercial + Backroom Sale

Friday, May 20th, 2011

Since we’ve been in party-planning mode, we’ve neglected to mention Lapel, Angela’s credenza collaboration with those cutie-pie Stone Blitzer boys. The Color Story Credenza is the first piece in the line, soon to be joined by a nightstand and other custom lovelies. And thus this little commercial shot & directed by Erik Vaughan Law.

And of course, the requisite outtake reel, always a laugh:

C’mon in and check out Lapel! But, if you need a bit more convincing, how’s this for a reason to come in: BACKROOM SALE! Last minute, this weekend only! Deals abound. Sale! Saaaaaale. You know it beckons.
