krink it

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

The best thing I have done with my krink pen

Our upstairs bathroom at our home was not in any budget but needed some perking up – no budget sometimes equals creative output.  I am a bit in love with Krink pens and also enjoy outlining things. We installed plywood subflooring and couldn’t decide what paint color to choose, so it was left untouched for sometime which blissfully lent itself to a rad ass floor. The secret : a plywood sub floor, a good orbital sander , this krink pen, a lot of time and patience, and a good paste wax with some elbow grease.

we are lucky our design clients put such trust in us

And Abby is one of them, we knew what we both wanted for her space, but the perfect antique chair had to present itself first…. and then we found the widest ribbon we could find and passed the  project on to our upholsterers who are never scared to say no to our ever changing wacky requests.

Our shop windows are billboards where we collaborate with local artists and designers. Once again, The Indo Projects gurus Linsey Burrit and Crystal Grover put fourth their ingenious concepts, patience and skills resulting in sublime displays that we adore. Also – Congrats  for their recent victory – winning the Make Believe Project .

Jack makes a Cameo

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

We’ve incorporated a new system for shooting new products recently. Instead of doing everything behind-the-scenes we’ve got a corner of the store which we’ve been converting to a mini photo studio once a week. It’s all about efficiency really; our space becomes a workshop as well as a store. Customers have been surprisingly receptive to it which is an unintended bonus for us both! Jack, Angela’s German Shepard/terrier/mutt, doesn’t seem to mind either, though he’s never far from the action.

a true hatmaker

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

A favorite locally owned business and client of ours

Optimo Fine Hats makes exquisite hats, and is one of the true last hat makers in the world. Fedoras are made from imported furs and Havanas are made from imported fibers, only the best materials and craftsmanship can be found here. A great project for us, since we love to do interior spaces in other shops. We brought in chalk board and light gray paints and designed a beautiful cash wrap in collaboration with Stone Blitzer.
