organized spaces where you make things happen

I am feeling a little tinge of spring energy today, and  have been in an organizing mode the last couple of weeks.  Hence this inspiration for today. This space is stunning, fashionable and functional with shelving and drawers acting as a textural backdrop.  Making things happen in a sexy space is the ultimate goal.

Laura Lombardi Spring 2011

Friday, February 25th, 2011

A sneak peek at Laura Lombardi’s spring line. I mean, really?! I don’t even know where to start. Ok wait. I do. The photography & styling are super fresh, alone worth a blog post. But the actual pieces, I’m smitten with every single one. I’m being a huge tease though because this stuff is so hot we don’t even have it in the store yet. Can you expect me to contain myself though? And once these are in the flesh, I’m sure my wallet will have a hard time containing itself too.

oh, fresh air and outdoor dining

Yes, please transport me right here right now! I will need a white flowing gauze dress and a big sun hat and please don’t forget a beautiful glass of vino in my hand.  The use of black and white tile here is stunning, and the perfect contrast to the natural environment that surrounds it.  Daydreaming.

new stuff!

romper room

Everyone should have one! I find myself sitting on the floor more often now, to look at magazines or to have a large space to spread out. I love this space that incorporates the floor as an extension of the seating…. oh and the colors here are pretty kick ass too.

Love from our Customers

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

I just spotted Sara & Michael Hunter’s sneak peak on Design*Sponge. And what do you know, there’s some Post 27 love in there! That gorgeous credenza was in our store way back when and I have to say, Michael & Sara have done a fantastic job with it. Such a talented couple as well; they run an adorable Etsy shop, Hutch Vintage, and Michael’s an accomplished artist too.

a cozy nook with texture

Simple yet complex. This space is warming, clean and full of details. And my favorite of all times – the classic drafting lamp. Classic meets boho chic = I love it.

vignettes

art in interior landscapes

I’ve always loved creating vignettes of interesting objects paired together in unexpected ways. Having a shop gives me so many outlets and new things to create. I like using things in ways they are not typically used for. Round jigsaw puzzles (vintage puzzle found on ebay) are great “doileys” and help create a space for items on a large surface. Vintage pieces and parts such as a refridgerator compartment drawer serves well as a container for housing multiple things. Beakers are great for storage and for drinking glasses. And one of my favorites, a wooden salad bowl used for toy storage.
