more to come from this concept
Good friends and client’s, Bob and Karen approached me to tackle one of my favorite projects of 2010. They wanted their existing floating shelves to read as an art installation of items collaged together. Each piece was carefully collected from thrifting and digging – picked for their shapes and sizes. A mixture of finishes from rubberized to shiny black were chosen to give more depth and variation. I mocked the shelves up in cardboard in the back room of Post 27 and meticulously placed, added, subtracted and now proud to see it complete and in the real. Their home is previewed in this month’s Chicago Home and Garden, the amazing photos were shot by the home owner and photography extraordinaire, Bob Coscarelli.
